ANGELICA MARTINEZ, an Orange, California author, explores neurodivergent life through fiction, when not breaking up cat battles between her two cats. She holds degrees in psychology, education, and an M.F.A. in creative writing, with her thesis, โScared Straight,โ centering on the psychological and moral lessons present in the Horror genre. Martinez can be found reading romance, watching horror films through tense fingers, reading manga, and practicing Tai Chi with friends.

Casillas is the author and publisher of The Immortal Philosophers series published by Four Elements Press and the short story “In The Opposites’ World,” published by Blunderbuss Magazine.

Salzwedel is a gay author, actor, and composer living in Brooklyn. His works include 8 short stories, 2 novels, and an award winning poem. He has edited for prominent presses, acted in Hollywood, and has composed music. In our discussion, Mark reflects on gay life and the literary world to help young LGBTQ creatives figure out their lives and career paths.
Travis Hupp is a lifelong poet with a passion for imagery that captures the essence of gay life in the South and in the US in general. Hupp explains his inspirations for writing and the messages he hopes to convey to readers within and outside the LGBTQ community. His work often addresses his heterosexual peers and the heteronormative and hetero-pushing American culture. With themes of unrequited love, feelings, and frustrations that come along with living in a binary society, Hupp lines up like legions the ghosts of his past to hold onto or leave for good.
A.J. Torres is an incredibly creative bi/pan Puerto Rican author with multiple published novels and short stories. Torres is actively working on publishing more exciting works for us to enjoy that explore Taino history and mythology, with an upcoming Norse mythology inspired novel coming out later this year. As a queer author and business owner, Simon is pioneering her way into State House conversations, and into the hearts of every readers through her tabling at weekend market events and popups. Simon has a “Liberation Podcast,” as she platforms and shares Indie Author stories and helps others publish through her work: “Writing Our Truths A Guide to Self-Publishing for BIPOC Writers.”
Ryan Mathew Schulz was born in Perth, Western Australia 1988.
As a graduate of John Curtin College of the Arts and a lover of all things theatrical, growing up in the worldโs most isolated city made Ryan fascinated with life outside the borders of WA – as did the stories of Mr. Stephen King! Holding 8 years of a career as a drag queen, they tossed aside the wigs to tap into other artforms, discovering circus, burlesque, and cabaret through the Fringe World Festival.

TM Thomas is an advocate and strong proponent of womenโs rights. She is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and has a strong desire for access to more inclusive and diverse literature. TM recognizes that people are able to use literature as a way to connect to the world at large and hopes that they are able to see themselves in her books. TM earned a BA in psychology and sociology and a masterโs in social work. Playing It Straight is her debut novel.
